°o° October 1st 1971…the birth of the “kingdom”

It’s hard to believe that in 2 1/2 short months it will be the 45th anniversary of the opening of Walt Disney World.  Luckily it falls on a Saturday so I hope to be attending on that landmark day.  Disney has already released special merchandise that will be available during the fall months in celebration of this momentous occasion.  Obviously it won’t be as big as Disneylands Diamond celebration (60 years)that has been going on this whole year so far but this park sits closer to home for me.  
I was able to visit “home” while Disney celebrated their big 25 in 1996.  That year they decorated Cinderella’s castle as a birthday cake.  Hard to grasp that it was 20 years ago lol.

I have not heard of what, if anything, they will be holding on the actual date of October 1st for the celebration but I will keep you updated as I hear anything announced. Until then my friends, have a magical day ✨

Missing Disney and How to Cope

Our family personally choses not to visit the parks during the summer months not only because the crowds are very large due to kid’s being out of school but also the HEAT is almost unbearable.  So what can you do during those hot summer months ☀️ to help get your Disney fix?  Well, here is a list of a few things that I do to help pass the time until we go “home” again.

 

  • Plan your next trip (trips) 📆…well currently at this moment I have 4 upcoming planned trips just waiting for those hot months to start to pass us by.  45th anniversary of opening day of Magic Kingdom, runDisney Wine and Dine weekend race, Thanksgiving trip with extended family, and Delaney’s birthday/Christmas trip.  If I had to my way, there would probably be like 10 more planned in there lol but we will start with these and go from there.

 

  • Watch Disney Movies...with the recent release of Finding Dory, there is never a lack of Disney magic in the theaters to help keep the magic alive in our hearts.

 

  • Buy Disney stuff 😍…my favorite of all the coping mechanisms lol.  You can never have too much Disney parphernalia that’s for sure.  Whoever said money can’t buy happiness obviously never went to Disney before lol.

🌴 Disney Fantasy 2017 🌴

This just happened!! We decided to skip this year so that we could go on a longer cruise the following year. This will be our first time aboard the Disney Fantasy, we have only been on the Dream for the past sailings.  This is going to be long year and a half that’s for sure. It will be Delaneys gift for starting kindergarten. Time sure does fly.  This will also be double the length of stay that she has been on before for any cruise. 😬

Already booked our spots on Mr. Sanchos Beach for when we are in Cozumel 🇲🇽 😎 Delaney is beyond excited that she will be tall enough to ride the Aquaduck finally, she was shy of like an inch last year.

❤️👟 runDisney From Home With the Virtual Shorts Running Series👟❤️

Disney has joined the trend of “virtual” races. These are very low key races that don’t require you to travel or even log your time. You can run the distance required from your home treadmill or just walk around your neighborhood. 
Disney has named their race the Virtual Running Shorts.  It consists of 3 separate virtual 5ks with the option to also take the “challenge” by running all 3 and earning a 4 th medal for completing the whole series.


The bibs are not actually sent to you but you are able to add your name to them and print them out if your wish to keep them as a record of the race like I do.  Here is a picture of my 4 that I have done.

The medals are sent to you within 30 days of completion of each race.  They do have a time frame for you to complete each race.  


Yellow Shoes: May 15th -June 1st

Red Pants: June 5th – June 18th

White Gloves: June 19th – June 30th


Upon completion of the whole series of 5ks you are then given the prized Mickey medal to go along with your collection. 9.3 magical miles and no travel required or getting up at 4 am to make it to the start line lol.

👄 Minnie Mouse Red 👄

After several apparent failed attempts at finding the perfect “Minnie mouse red” lipstick…I have finally found it!  It is MAC retro matte liquid lipcolour in the color FEELS SO GOOD. Spot on ” Minnie Mouse red”! 

Before I found this shade of red I never knew so many diffetent variations existed. You can’t just go to a makeup store and say I want red lipstick because you can’t even count on two hands the total of “red” shades they had to offer. But thanks to the Mac store in Macy’s at the oaks mall in Gainesville, I have found my long lost shade of red that I had been longing for.

🦀 DIY Little Mermaid Mouse Ears 🦀

Why be the same as everyone else when you can make your own custom mouse ears that no one else will be wearing at the parks. If you have some spare time and a few of these items just laying around the house, it is a super fun afternoon project to prepare for your upcoming Disney trip…minus the hot glue gun burns to the fingers but it’s all worth it with your end result. Stay Disney my friends!
